The Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre is full of kinetic sculptures and features mechanical structures which perform multi-sensory shows of movement, sound and light.
It was founded by sculptor-mechanic Eduard Bersudsky and theatre director Tatyana Jakovskaya in St Petersburg and moved to Scotland in the 1990s.
The word Sharmanka is Russian for hurdy-gurdy or barrel-organ.

Sharmanka a great sounding word. I also think hurdy gurdy is a great name too 😀.great photos
