Strathpeffer Station 🛤️
The original Strathpeffer Railway Station opened in 1870 on the Dingwall & Skye Line. However, it was some distance from the town itself and a branch line was opened in 1885 to Strathpeffer itself. It closed in 1964 and now houses a Museum of Childhood, shops and a cafe.
Tarbat Ness Lighthouse
Tarbat Ness Lighthouse was engineered by Robert Stevenson for the Northern Lighthouse Board and the light was first exhibited in 1830. It cost £9,361 to build and is the third tallest in Scotland behind North Ronaldsay & Skerryvore. It has an elevation of 53 metres (174 feet) and has 203 steps to the top of the tower.
